Researching race‐ethnicity in race‐mute Europe

In Germany and continental Europe, more broadly, race ethnicity are concepts that not widely used increasingly erased from the legislation. Nevertheless, still as social markers often merely replaced with other terms (e.g., cultural background). The goal of this paper is threefold. First, we point to danger treating essentialist categories, which common in developmental science research. Second, want outline specific problems occur when doing research on children adolescents European race-mute context. Third, suggest future ought focus constructions Whiteness reproduction power differences among ethnic majority populations. so, draw examples our own ethnic-racial identity socialization.
